How to Choose an Insurance Agent?
It seems like there are a thousand different insurance agents in Las Vegas. Help! How do you go through all those insurance agents and find the right one? It seems like everyone has had a bad experience with an agent that wasn’t there for them, didn’t help them with their needs, or was just plain shady. Here are some tips and strategies to consider while navigating the insurance agent highway out there.
1.)The first step is figuring out what your needs are. If you like to pay for your monthly insurance bill in person then you need to find an office that is relatively close to you or is within a reasonable distance of your home or work.
2.)Do an internet search with these key terms with your cities name in it (Auto Insurance) (Home Insurance) (Motorcycle Insurance) (Renters Insurance). For example, if you Google “Las Vegas Auto Insurance” as well as all the others, look to see which local agents/agencies pop up the most.
3.)Along the same line as #2. When you search for those key terms in Google, look for the agents with the most positive reviews. Some insurance agents will have an outside company write a few positive reviews that sound forced and made up. Ignore these companies! Also stay away from the insurance agencies that have a lot of negative customer service reviews. Look for an agency that has multiple positive reviews.
4.)Call around and get quotes. Don’t just look for the cheapest quote. If an agent offers better coverage and explains why you need it then that’s a good sign that they care about their customers. Any agent can spend five minutes giving you a quote, the one that spends time getting to know your needs is a keeper, even if they are a few dollars more per month.
This is a good start to finding the right agent for you. Don’t just go with the first cheap price you find. You want to make sure that your agent is there when you need them so make sure you pick the right one.
