Keeping Your Car Clean
It’s so nice to drive around in a clean car, it’s almost like it was new again. Unfortunately, things like kids, work and just life in general can make keeping your car clean a bit more difficult. Lucky for you, there are a few tips that can make that new look last just a little bit longer.
So often when we come home, we’re tired and we want to go inside that we tend to get lazy with bringing things in from the car. This is especially true with larger families. Having a rule like “carry it in, carry it out” makes everyone responsible for their own things. This can relieve parents of bringing in their children’s things, and teaches responsibility in the process. A simple reminder as everyone exits the vehicle can help turn this idea into a habit.
For many families, having lots of things in the car is a lot more convenient than bringing it in and out all the time. The mess occurs when you can’t find what you need and everything gets thrown around the car. There are many organizers you can find either at car stores or in the automotive aisle of your discount store. Some are meant to affix to the back of the seat while others are meant to sit on the hump in the middle. If everything has a place, then it saves time plus nothing else gets disrupted while looking for what you need.
Oftentimes, it’s trash that can clutter your car. Though you would never think of throwing a wrapper on the floor in your house, many people think nothing about throwing a wrapper on the floor of their car (usually with the intention of throwing it away later, which is usually forgotten about upon getting to your destination.) This is partly due to having no waste basket around like people have in their homes. Ever wonder what to do with those plastic grocery store bags? Well now you can keep one in the car. Once you have a place to put trash, it makes taking it out of the car that much simpler too.
These aren’t earth shattering tips, but you’d be amazed at how effective they are. The first month or so can be tough if you’re not used to it, but over time, these things become habit, and you’ll find yourself doing them without a moments thought. Now when it does come time to really clean your car, you’ll be surprised at how much less time that takes too.
