COOL APPS FOR YOUR CAR
As technology gets more and more high tech, there are cooler and cooler apps for your phone that you can use for your car. Long gone are the days when you could just make phone calls, and we are way past playing games (although those are quite fun too), but nowadays apps are even more useful.
With gas prices getting higher and higher, there is an app called Gas Buddy. It’s a free app, which is my favorite kind, and it searches for the best gas prices near you. This is not only good as a money saver, but also a real time saver when you are driving in a city that you are unfamiliar with. Now, you can not only find a gas station near you, but also save money in the process.
Another neat application for your phone is called Repair Pal. This has multiple functions to keep you driving safely on the road. It keeps a history of your cars repairs, so if you are at a different mechanic, they can see what other fixes have been done; it makes a maintenance schedule checklist for you, so you know what things your car will need when you get to different mileage milestones (always a difficult thing to keep straight in your head); and it will show you the price range for around 100 common repairs so you can make sure that your “guy” isn’t overcharging you. It’s even better than having a friend who knows about cars, and it won’t get mad at you if you look something up at one in the morning.
Finally, something every car owner should have is the app from their insurance company. It’s not as snazzy or as fun as Fruit Ninja, but it is better to have on your phone before you need it. If you get into an accident, it will make getting all the necessary information easier, and will help insure that you don’t forget to record anything. Some apps can even let you pay your premium by phone!
Since all of these mentioned come free of charge, it is definitely something that you should check out. And the best thing about free is that if you find yourself not using it as much as you thought you would, you can always delete it… but I’m pretty sure you won’t want to do that with these apps.
