ELECTRIC CAR IS SO YESTERDAY
What’s lighter than a Honda Motorcycle, gets you high, and has caught the FAA’s attention? The electric plane, that’s what!
A team of high school students from here in Las Vegas have built a 2 seater plane that can go 200 mph and flies at 1000 ft. These kids are really something, they’re not old enough to drink yet, but they are causing the FAA to take notice.
These Rancho high school students were picked by our Nevada Governor, Brian Sandoval to represent Nevada in the Real World Design Challenge. This competition involves students across the US.
There are currently no regulations yet for certifying electric planes yet, it’s all so new. Because of this, it has been difficult for the students to determine battery placement and determining maximum weight. Not to worry, where the builders go, the regulations are sure to catch up with them soon.
Most teenagers are trying to get their driver’s license or trying to get mom and dad to buy them a car. Not these kids. At least one team member is a licensed pilot!
I wonder if they’ll have everything ready for the prom? Who would want to be picked up in a limo if your date can show up at your door in a plane?
